Key Insights

443: Bhausaheb Nimbalkar holds the record for smashing the highest individual score in the Ranji Trophy. His marathon innings of an unbeaten 443 came against Kathiawar in December 1948.

4: Nimbalkar would have broken Don Bran’s record of 452* to bestow the tag of the highest individual score in First-Class cricket at that time. However, Kathiwar conceded the match during the 3rd day’s lunch break when Nimbalkar was still batting. Nevertheless, Nimbalkar’s 443* remains the 4th highest individual score in First-Class cricket.
