Bowling in T20 cricket is a thankless job. There’s hardly any assistance for bowlers these days, with odds (and conditions) stacked in batters’ favour.
Despite the tough scenarios, bowlers have poured their hearts out to keep their sides in the game. This has also resulted in a few of them producing sensational spells that rocked the batters hard.

Key Insights
Alzarri Joseph has returned with the best bowling figures in IPL history. The right-arm pacer broke an 11-year-old record to the figures of 6 for 12 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Interestingly, this was Joseph’s first game in the IPL as Mumbai Indians (MI) handed him his debut.
Sohail Tanvir was the first-ever bowler to pick up a five-wicket haul in the IPL. He went a bit ahead with six wickets against Chennai Super Kings to the Purple Cap winner in the 2008 season.
Adam Zampa is the other bowler to have a six-for in the league. He was fresh off his IPL debut in 2016 and put up a show in his second match. Even though Zampa was fresh blood in the circuit, he outperformed all the other great bowlers by getting to the magical figure of 6/19 in 4 overs with a brilliant economy of 3.50.
