Cricket in India has always been a big thing. However, Indian cricket has come a long way so far. India played its first international cricket match in 1932 when they toured England under the name “All-India”. Since that, the game has been developed into the most celebrated one in the nation.
India has 2 ODI World Cups and 1 T20 World Cups so far.
Indian cricket players have gone through many great moments. Here, we have chosen those greatest moments in Indian cricket.
1. Winning the 1983 World Cup
This picture must be the oldest memory of cricket for many Indian fans. Moreover, this is one of the greatest moment in Indian Cricket, where India had beaten the West Indies, who were the world champions for the first two world cups.
India beat West Indies by 43 runs in the 1983 World Cup Final.
Indian team being the underdog, had nothing to lose and had every reason to go all out for the win after wrapped up for 183 Runs. And thats what they did to make one of the best comebacks ever in cricket history. They All-Out the Mighty West Indian team for 140 runs in the chase.
Earlier, the Indian press was not given es to the final match as Indians were not expected to be there in the finals. Indians upsetting English in the semifinals was a nightmare for them to put the board in mourning.
The London Times predicted 50:1 odds that India will lose the finals.
But the then captain Kapil Dev made sure India is not leaving with their face down. His shrewd captaincy and India’s sharp fielding had won the game for India.
Defending 183 against the mighty Caribbean lineup was not even near to possible at those times, but when Amarnath picked up the final wicket of Holding, India turned the world upside down.

2. Anil Kumble’s 10 Wickets-haul
On February 7th in 1999, India’s legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble picked up all ten wickets in one Test innings against Pakistan and, in the process, wrote his name into the pages of cricket history.
Kumble, only the second player to achieve these feet of picking up all the wickets of the opposition in an innings. And that too against the arch-rivals Pakistan was the icing on the cake.
Kumble’s brilliance saw India crush Pakistan by 212 runs in the second Test in New Delhi and square the short two-match series.
I don’t think I would have got there without their . It was a great team effort, but the best thing is that India won the match to level the series.

I still the celebration Indians had after Kumble picked up the final wicket. It was history written all over the day and one of the great moment in Indian Cricket History.

3. Ganguly’s T-Shirt Stunt at Lords Balcony
Here is one of the sweetest revenges for India against the home team at the Lord’s.
It was always about the Fab 4 OF Viru, Sachin, Ganguly, and Dravid in Indian batting. Once they were back to the pavilion, it is almost game over for India. This is why the match-winning partnership of Yuvraj and Kaif in the Natwest final against England turned the Indian cricket history.
The two young batters battling out and chasing a magnamious England’s 325 is a dream come true for any Indian cricket fan then.
At one stage, India were 146/5, looking pretty decisive on their way home as the losing side. But when Yuvraj Singh (69) and Mohammad Kaif (87*) added 121 for the 6th wicket to bring the match back to the Indian side, India’s taste of victory became evident.
But the moment happened just after Kaif took the winning runs. Sourav Ganguly, the Indian Captain, watching from the stands, took off his shirt and swirled it wildly, much the same way as Andrew Flintoff celebrated after beating India during England’s preceding tour of India.
That’s a sight for the Indian fans.
4. Sachin’s last Test match entry
On November 16th 2013, Sachin Tendulkar took his final walk from the Mumbai Wankhede Stadium dressing room to play his last Test innings against West Indies. The Below Picture has been given the Picture Of The Year award 2013.
Sachin’s farewell speech will stay with the Indian cricket fans forever.
It adds to one of the great moments in Indian cricket as we have witnessed Sachin’s last innings, thereby ending his 24 years cricket journey in the international arena.
