The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will play in the 56th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Tuesday, May 10, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
KL Rahul’s team leads the points table with 16 points after winning 8 of 11 games in IPL 2022. LSG needed to win to keep their place in the top spot.
LSG’s batting has relied heavily on top-order batsmen KL Rahul, Quinton Dekock, and Deepak Hooda. In recent matches, Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya failed to contribute with the bat. Marcus Stoinis scored 28 runs in just 14 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last match.
Mohsin Khan, a young fast bowler, had an outstanding tournament, grabbing 9 wickets in 5 matches at an economy rate of 5.35. Avesh Khan has taken wickets with both new and old balls.
The Gujarat Titans stand in 2nd place in the points table with 16 points, with 8 wins in 11 games. GT lost back-to-back matches after starting the tournament by winning matches.
Wriddhiman Saha uses the power play with his wide range of shots and gives an aggressive start to his team. Shubman Gill has been performing on and off, and he needs to be consistent before the playoffs. Hardik Pandya and David Miller have to come to form and utilise the middle overs properly.
Bowling isn’t a concern for the Gujarat Titans as M. Shami, Lockie Ferguson, and Rashid Khan perform well. Alzarri Joseph has to bowl well and his other teammates.
LSG vs GT: Probable Playing XIs
No changes are expected in the LGS line-up. GT batting will stop at 6 with Rahul Tewatia. Dominic Drakes will be a good option to play in place of Alzarri Joseph.
