Key Insights

Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera brought up the first century of 2025. He scored a match-winning 101 off 46 against New Zealand in a T20I game. With that, Perera became only the third Sri Lankan to score a T20I century.

A few days later, South Africa’s Ryan Rickleton smashed the highest individual score of this year. His 259 in the New Year Test against Pakistan was the first double ton in 2025. Find here the highest ODI and Test individual knocks every year since 2010.

The end of January saw Steven Smith score his 10,000th run in Test cricket. Now he is part of an exclusive club of four Australian batters with 10,000 Test runs.

During the Sri Lanka tour, Smith also raised his 35th and 36th Test hundreds to go level with Joe Root and Rahul Dravid.
